Jakarta (Indonesia) old





The Portuguese arrived to Indonesia in 1522 to the port of Sunda Kelapa in Jakarta's bustling, which was part of a dynasty Bagaran and is the last Hindu kingdom in West Java. The port is located north of the city currently. In Batavia, the Dutch built houses and made ​​their channels in an attempt to simulate Amsterdam. This has helped to strengthen the city's population of Indonesians and Chinese who migrated to the region to take advantage of business opportunities. 
In 1740, the people of Batavia suffered tragedy on 9 October, where he was killed 5000 people from the Chinese community because of ethnic unrest. He moved later to Chiniyon Jludok outside the city walls. Between 1735-1780 due to the killing of a number of other epidemics. 
Dutch colonial rule ended the Japanese occupation in 1942 and re-name the capital, Jakarta, and became official in 1950.
